Haverhill 0 City u13s 2

Good win for the boys for an away pitch on a very hard and not very grassy Haverhill training pitch!

City lined up 3-5-2 with Cam in goal, Hayden, Max and Luke at the back, Joel and James wide left and right with George holding in midfield and Tennie and Jack in the middle of the park. Callum and Sam up front.

The game started fairly level with both sides matching each other.
After 20 mins Kyran and Shayne replaced Joel and Luke.
On 25 mins Kyran did well on the right and not sure if he saw the keeper of his line or more of a cross/ shot, but his delivery ended up in the top corner for city to take the lead.
City were denied a penalty that could have been given when the keeper came out for a brave 50-50 with Callum, and some refs may have given it as it looked like the keeper got ball and player.
Kyran was instrumental in the 2nd goal as well. He defended well from a Haverhill attack and found Sam who flicked his header on over the last defender for his strike partner Callum to this time beat the oncoming keeper. 2-0

The 2nd goal settled City and the 2nd half looked pretty comfortable. Subs were made and players tried in different positions.
Jack was unlucky not to score or see a penalty awarded as he was pulled back as he was set to score from inside the box.
Callum hit the bar, and both Tennie and Joel had chances that they hit over the bar when scoring looked the easier option.
It was good to get a clean sheet for the keeper and defenders, but for a goal and hard working display Kyran was awarded player of the match.
