City 0 Walsham le Willow 3

City u13s gave up home advantage after Writtle Sports ground was deemed to be waterlogged. So City made the long trip into Suffolk to face top of the league Walsham, to ensure a game was played.
City lined up with Cam in goal, Shane finally made his debut, alongside Gabe and Max at the back. Hayden, Billy and Tennie started in the middle of the park with James and Joel playing as wingers right and left with Callum and Sam up front. Luke, Reece and Jack started on the bench.

City started well and were well in the game for the first 15 minutes. Corners and free kicks from Joel and Tennie were not converted although the Walsham keeper was not really troubled.

Hayden was replaced in midfield after 15 mins by Luke. Unfortunately Walsham were getting back in to the game and after going close with 2 headed corners took the lead on 20 mins when the ball was not cleared and the Walsham striker scored 1-0. Jack replaced Tennie just after 20 mins, but 1 soon became 2 for Walsham as ex Claret Charlie scored a good toe poked goal to double Walshams lead.2-0

At half time Reece replaced Gabe, with Luke moving into the back 3 and Reece heading the attacking option going forward.

Walsham sealed the game with a third soon into the 2nd half when the Walsham striker got the better of City defenders and scored from inside the box. 3-0

Hayden and Tennie replaced Billy and Jack and Gabe came back on to replace debutant Shane.

City did force a few chances with Sam trying his luck with a left foot shot that was fairly easily saved as was a Callum chance and Joel and Reece both saw chances go wide and over.

Cam was also kept busy in the City goal and made 2 good saves, Max also looked very assured in the middle of defence making some good challenges and ensuring the score line remained respectable.

Walsham had a good spine to the team with 2 strong defenders winning lots of headers, a strong midfielder and as we know Charlie up front scores goals.

Unfortunately for City 3-0 was probably about the right result. Well done to Cam and Max who kept and defended really well. Walsham were just that bit stronger today. Hopefully we can get back to winning ways next week.
