City EJA boys into Semi Finals of County Cup beating Maldon and Tiptree 1-5

The U13 Eja boys played superbly as a team on the 4g surface away at fellow Eja side Maldon and Tiptree. Sam started upfront with Callum, Ed and James on the wings with Billy, Tennie and George bossing midfield. The solid defence of Max, Luke and Hayden with Cam in goal.
City had much of the first 25 mins and were looking to play passing football. The Maldon keeper doing well to keep out a shot from Callum. But on 30 mins a good corner by Tennie was met by the head of Hayden onto the bar and the ball dropped to Callum who tapped in from close range. 0-1. City doubled the lead just before halftime when a long cross came in from Luke an Callum controlled well an shot to score his and his teams 2nd. 0-2 halftime.
City knew Maldon would not lie down, and came out onto the 2nd half with a quick 3rd with a good ball through by Billy for Callum to complete his Hatrick with a good chip over the keeper. 0-3.
Midway through the half Reece replaced the hard working Billy.
With 10 mins to go Georhe played in Callum and he do well to score his and the teams 4th.
Joel and Gabe replaced the hard working Ed and Max for the last 8 mins.
Maldon did score a consolation after seeing a shot come off the bar and go over the line. 1-4.
City did get the last goal as the Maldon defence collapsed and Sam made room in the box to score. 1-5.
A superb team performance today. County cup semi final draw Wednesday at 5.30pm with the semi to be played 8th Feb.
EJA cup semi final next week as the boys are still in both league and county cups.
