Chelmsford city under 14 whites took to the field for the first time in 2018, playing the team they took all three points off in the last game of 2017. The opening ten minutes saw a city side," down to bare bones", on the back foot. But as the half went on, the whites grew in stature and could have found themselves in the lead when Nabeel Asghar burst through, only to see his effort saved by the stones Keeper. Soon afterwards an almost identical situation saw the visitors keeper save well again with Jake Edmonds in the clear. Half time brought a much needed rest for both teams and despite the lack of goals the game had been far from dull.
The second half began at the same pace as the first. Stones began to have more possession but city still looked likely to nick one on the brake. Jamie Holloway and Tom Hunter both went close, with quick feet in the box. But the visitors also went close bringing the best out of Benjy Bacon in the city goal. So a point a piece and a well earned point for the Whites.
