U15 Whites win again
By Dean Blundell
Game of two halves
After two weeks rest, city U15 whites got back to business with an away trip to Woodham. The early morning rain cleared, and the less than special pitch was helped a bit by the dampness.
City began well and dominated the middle of the park, Tom Hunter
in a new holding roll linked well with Jamie Holloway
and debutant Freddie Pye
in front of him. However City, despite their domination had to wait 15 minutes before finally troubling the Woodham Keeper. A corner routine was headed home by Emmanuel Tshinene
, but rulled out for a push by Luke Wilson
. But less than two minutes later an almost exact replica was counted. Emmanuel Tshinene
headed powerfully home from an Owen Grimshaw
set piece. City then began to take control and soon added another from a very similar scenario, Owen Grimshaw
delivered once again only for the Woodham keeper to divert the ball over the goal line.(A few have tried to claim the goal, but its going down as an OG).
City were now well on top. Another bullet header from Tshinene, with another Grimshaw assist. and a long range effort from Luke Wilson
saw the Whites finish the half 4-0 up.
The second half saw a much changed city side, and they failed to find the High tempo, possession football of the first 40 minutes. The Radars kept plugging away, and although the result was never in doubt, the hosts grabbed two late goals to make the result look a lot more respectable than perhaps it should have been.
Three more points for the whites, and 40 minutes of the best football this season. We will need a better second half to beat the other title contenders!!!
